Fun games for laptops

I'm just curious to see which games you guys have found to be enjoyable on a laptop. I'm talking about laptops without an additional mouse/keyboard, meaning we are using their built in keyboard and mouse-like thing.

So far I've found Escape Velocity and Worms (when I turn off the tap to click on the trackpad) games to be enjoyable, since they don't require much mouse usage. Have you guys found any others ?

I tried playing games with the touchpad/trackpad/whatever and gave up. Get a mouse, they're $10 these days and make your life worth living again.

The Football Manager series is most enjoyable on a laptop. You obviously don't require a new mouse to enjoy that game to its full potential.

I can easily afford a mouse. Its just that when waiting around at uni between classes with nothing to do, the seats that are usually free aren't with a table, so I'd have no room to use the mouse.

Get a hand mouse. You can usually pick them up at Wal-Mart pretty cheap. It fits on your index finget like a loose ring. The mouse button is in the ring so you click it like pulling a trigger, and there is a roller ball on the top you move with your thumb. There are also 2 mouse buttons on the top next to the roller ball. It plugs into a USB port on your computer.

Hearts of Iron works just fine with just the touchpad.

As another solution, I swear by Logitech's trackball mice. The one I own now (and have for years) is the Trackman Marble, and it's been nothing but good to me.

Alpha Centauri is a fun game, though does require quite a bit of movement.

But where would I actually put it when I have the laptop taking up the entire free surface ?

Starscape is a fun take on Asteroids, pumped up to a rediculous degree.

You just need the Q, W, E, and arrow keys. SOLD.

You can set it on your leg when using it. All you do is move the track ball with your finger, so it does not require any space to move it around like a normal mouse.

As for where to get the little handheld mouse, I did a quick search and found the following websites sold them.

I'll second that.

Aside from Alpha Centauri I've been playing Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates without problem. Even thought it's real time, the game is nice and slow-paced.

The Civilization games are workable with a touchpad. Though it's probably better to use a mouse for them when possible.
