Puzzle Quest on Xbox Live Arcade

And you have no excuse not to buy it. Because it's like, a tenner, for a game that manages to be a really good puzzle game, and more interesting than most "Select Fight from the menu, repeat until interesting" Japanese RPGs.
There's a metric shitload of content in there, with all the usual puzzle game modes represented, but cunningly tied into the character system in some way. for example, after defeating a given enemy three times, you have the option to Capture that enemy, which sparks a minigame where you have to clear a set grid completely, you can then take that enemy prisoner, or if it's a ridable, train it as a mount. You can learn new moves from your prisoners by playing a high score game, whilst mounts boost your stats and have an extra move available, and you can level them up by playting a timed rounds game against icreasingly strong versions of that critter.
Also, there's the standard RPG quest and sidequest business going on (lots and lots of sidequests, actually), item crafting, conquering cities, the lot.
And on top of all that, you can play multiplayer via Live or local, using your bearded out character.
Seriously, for a tenner, this is the best value game you can get right now. Go and get it.
