I've been trying to update my AVG 7.5 anti-virus, but the system keeps saying 'update server connection failure, no additional information is available'. Just what do I need to do to fix this?

Well, you're obviously connected to the internet, if you're posting on here fine, so I would recommend checking your firewall settings. What program do you use?

Uninstall AVG and install Antivir or Avast. Seriously.

Edit: I mean it

I have Zonealarm firewall, AVG is cleared to go through without a problem, but using Antivir seems to not work with zonealarm, and the Kaspersky AVS system doesn't seem to install due to some kl1.sys file issue.

edit: the AVG system on my other computer works just fine, no problems with updates, don't know why there's a problem with this one.

Found out that the problem was an issue of zonealarm, clean reinstall solved it.
