A YouTube question

For some reason, when I use YT, it has the strange habit of loading some videos rapidly (The time it takes the red bar to reach the end), and others are excessively slow. For example:
This has taken just under an hour to fully load whilst
This only took a minute
Any suggestions?

If it takes too long, just reload the page; sometimes the connection just needs a kick in the pants.

Maybe your ISP is having international link issues.

I have the same problem - it is very frustrating. I can't even suss out a potential reason as to why it is happening.

They're making localized versions for most countries, including Canada. It's meant to be faster for those who are in the area (this explains Bounty always having links starting with uk. since he's pretty close and I assume browsing in English).
So the generic Youtube link would be based in NA, which is far away for you, and thus, slower than Ralph Wiggum after a lobotomy.

I think the most often viewed videos are put on high speed servers while more obscure videos are put on slower servers.
So it may just be you having a bad connection to the server the video you want happens to be on.
