Godzilla: Unleashed

Obviously this isn't a hugely popular game since it hasn't been mentioned here yet but I've played it on the PS2 a couple of times and thought I'd see if anyone else had played it or had comments about it.
For me the game is a little disappointing because the PS2 version is a much weaker version of a game that sounds like it is much better in it's Nintendo Wii version.
The PS2 version has one new completely new monster created for the game. Not a bad monster but essentially based on the Orga platform.
Another thing that's not so great about the game in general is that you almost need to have been playing the previous game, Godzilla: Save the Earth to be very good at this game. Most of the moves are the same but the book that comes with it only explains the absolute basics.
Throwing other monsters is also a problem. The basic throw usually just has the other monster being dropped at your monster's feet instead of sending them sailing off into buildings and such. The elaborate throws still work though.
There's still the annoying unlock and purchasing fuctions that were present in the other game. Hopefully someone will come up with unlock codes soon. It is a bit easier to chalk up points to use in the store but it still take a long time to unlock everything. I don't know if there are any hidden monsters in the PS2 version. Given the number of monsters in the Wii version which aren't hidden there could easily be a hidden monster or two.
I really dislike some of the navigation menus. It's not always obvious which bit is highlighted for selection and which is not. Some parts are very simple to use
What they did really improve on this game from G:StE is the graphics on the cities. They looke a little better and curshing and stomping them is more fun. I'm not entirely sure the monster graphics have changed or not. Some of the monsters seem to look better while others are about the same. I also could have sworn that in one game King Ghidorah was absolutely huge but later in the story he seemed only somewhat bigger than Godzilla.
The main modes of the game are Brawl and Story.
The Brawl mode is pretty self explainitory but I don't recall if it's upgraded version of the Melee mode from the last game or just a one on one thing. In Story mode you often end up in what is essentially Melee mode because of the number of monsters involved.
In Story mode you follow this story from begining to end. It's not bad but as some sites have pointed out it's ocassionally rather difficult to know why you completed that stage and moved on.
I do like that the monsters are divided up into groups (Earth Defenders, Mutants, Aliens, and Global Defense Force) and that depending on what your monster does you may or may not come into conflict with the other monsters on your stage. I found that the GDF always attacked me as Godzilla but the other monsters in my groupd wouldn't attack me, and most of those in the other groups wouldn't attack me if I stayed clear of them and didin't start anything. It also helped if my approval rating was high with them. For instance the Aliens love it when you just trash everything in site, which of course the GDF hates.
Anyway, in easy mode this makes it easy for you to get through the story because you can go about destroying crystals and trying to move to the next stage instead of spending all of your time fighting. Often the other monsters will be occupied fighting each other while you do whatever you want. You do get a lot more points for defeating other monsters than you do for just trashing buildings and military assets.
Personally, I rather like putting a hurt on the GDF (MOGERA, Kiryu, Mechagodzilla II) and the renegade Atoragon.
Anyway, I think the PS2 version is a decent companion game to G:StE but I think it would be very disappointing by itself. Hopefully they'll port the Wii version over to PS3 because it would be a trip to see Biollante, Varan and Titanosaurus in this game.
