I bought Silent Hunter 3 recently and I found it to be a very enjoyable experience. However I have one problem with it and it's the insane destinations I'm given in career mode. One time I started from France and I had to go all the way to frickin' South Africa.
I heard that the patch fix that but I always get an error when installing the patch and I'm not very good with computers. I know there's a few fans here and I wonder if some of you could help me out.
I tried to install the silent_hunter_3_dvd_1.4b_us.exe patch and it says it can't upgrade because of this:
C:\Program files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter III\data\menu\de_menu.txt:unknown version.
Thanks in advance

judging by the _us.exe, you're installing the US version. Do you have an international one?
Also, are you installing the DVD version patch if you have the DVD version or the non-DVD if you don't?

I don’t have the game, but I don’t see the issue with France to South Africa, a number of German subs made the trip all the way from France to Malay and back in WW2.

I tried the EU one but it doesn't work either and it is indeed a dvd. Still doesn't work.

What? Are you the kind of a pussy who can't torture his crew during a 180-day patrol in blasting heat, near enemy shores with little shipping to actually attack and sink?
What kind of a submariner
are you?
