Video Work: I need help!

I watched a Bollywood film on DVD (Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, it has excellent sub titles). I loved the music to it, and especially the dances. I decided I'm going to learn the moves to one of the dances (the title track, actually). Best way to do this? Load the tracks as music videos on my iPod.

I've already ripped the DVD onto my computer, and I know the songs are on Title 2, but how do I convert only those into a video file? The way it works is, the main movie is on Title 1, and then through the menu, you can watch just the songs, which are on Title 2. I want to convert these videos into a suitable format for iPod with Handbrake, and then slice up the videos into individual chapters/songs.

The list of files I have to work with:

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
and so on to VTS_01_4.VOB
Then it's VTS_02_0.BUP, .IFO, and VTS_02_1.VOB.

A couple files for VTS_03, 04, and that's it.

I have Handbrake, Videora iPod Converter, and Audacity for audio (I don't think that's useful in this case, though).

When I use Handbrake to snip specific sections of a DVD, I play the DVD in a player that'll display the Title/Chapter information (the Mac OS X DVD player does this, I am not sure about any Windows DVD players). With that, I know what Title and Chapter(s) to have Handbrake transcode into something I can use (in your case, for your iPod or for some additional editing). If you want to queue up multiple sections, Handbrake should allow this.

Alright. I know I want Title 2, should I assume that's the VTS_02 files? And then the chapters would be divided in there? How do I tell Handbrake to divide it by chapter? I've only ever used it for videos I couldn't convert with Videora, like DVDs and such.

I wouldn't try and just load the one file, but I would load all of the files as a VIDEO_TS folder and let Handbrake sort out what is what. Assuming you have the latest version of Handbrake, it'll be pretty simple to select just the title you want and then the range of chapters you specifically want.
