Xbox360: an US centric console?

It's a common criticism i get about the 360.
I could understand it on the first box, but on the 360?

i was classing my games tonight and well i've got a shitload of japanese games.
Even removing japanese games targeting western audience (AC06 or Dead Rising, etc...)
There is still many games that uniquely japanese, that would fit as well on my NEC SuperCD-rom II.
This is a quick list from my own games library.

- The iDOLM@STER
- EDF3
- Oneechanbara VorteX
- Lost Odyssey
- Blue Dragon
- Super Robot Wars XO (ok that's a port)
- Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume
- Senko no RĂ´nde RevX
- Shikigami no Shiro III

i've got Clannad iDOLM@STER Live For You and Clannad on preorder.
Ikaruga and Trigger Heart Exelica are coming on the XBLA.
i don't really feel the link with the black Halo-box that was the first Xbox.
It seems to me that this console is the bastard child of the PC-Engine and the Dreamcast.
Yet a lot of people dismiss it as the Madden/Fps fratboy console. why?

Cause dogmatic ideologies / rank-fanboyery doesn't stop at religion or politics, they venture into the realm of pc gaming and the console wars, amazingly.

So what if it is an American centric console though? I'm an American but to go beyond my narrow viewpoint, we're still the single largest video game market. So big woop.

Really, that's shouldn't be hard to figure out. It's the same reason why Nintendo is dismissed as Kiddie -- the majority of its popular games fit a specific stereotype.

It's hard to think of the Xbox and not instantly associate it with Halo.

I don't give a single shit about Japanese RPGs or Metal Gear Solid.

Therefore I feel no compulsion at this point to have something OTHER than a 360. I have a Wii and I might get Baroque for it, but that's as far towards the crazy Japanese that I'm willing to go, other than maybe revisiting Shining Force 2 one day.

Yeah, but Australia gets screwed over by everything and everyone.

Yes, I know you're talking about PAL country. Silly Brit.

Hold off on that, the development is supposed to be troubled. Fragile should be a much better game.

If you really want to play Baroque, the original Saturn version is still amazing.

Stereotypes just don't change quickly enough.
