For those of you who have it but didn't know how to disable the splash screen and the ads that pop up at every update, here's how:

I don't have it, but I do have a question. Why did you suppress the link? Is there a hostile forum over there itching to invade us, or illegal crap we shouldn't be linking to anyway?
If not,
DON'T SUPPRESS THE LINK!

Because it takes
soooooo much effort to copy that into your browser, remove the space, and hit enter. I'm so sorry for being courteous and playing it safe.

Why would I want to disable it? They provide me with an excellent free anti-virus program, so they kinda deserve to nag me once awhile. It is not like they send out messages a la "Hot Busty Russian XXX only 2.34$".

People have their reasons. You could be playing a game, on or offline, and the program chooses that time to update and show that ad to you, for instance. And I don't think you need to be constantly reminded anyway.

Oh right, I didn't think of that.

I've set it to update at 3am, since I doubt I'll be on the computer then. So unless I leave the computer on all night for a download, I will be getting the update next time I boot up. And since I'm expecting it, there isn't any problem.
I only set it to then to make sure that the bandwidth it uses doesn't interfere with any games I'm playing.

Or, if you're worried about that, you can set the updates on manual, which means that you don't get interrupted in the middle of things. I took that option because the update kept screwing up Dominions screen formatting if it happened while Dom was running. That way it will also remind you at set intervals with a discreet popup in the lower right corner once the update hasn't been done in a while.
