Let's say I bought a region 2 DVD without realizing it was region 2. and let's say I want to WATCH it on my DVD player.

How do I do that or can you point me to a program which will allow me to?

Are you saying VLC will play other region DVDs?

VLC plays everything. Ever.

Though, of course, it might just be changing your computer's drive region, which can only be done a limited number of times.

Yes which is I believe about five times...

Maybe I'll shove the old DVD drive back in and set it to region 2.... (duh) @ myself.

It's not. My drive is still at 5 (base) and I watch region 2 DVDs all the time and I'm in region 4.

The drive's region should control what you watch with the DVD codec on your PC, so when you're watching through WMP or something like that, it wont' work. Media Player Classic, however, has it's own codec built in, so it will work.

^Media Player classic...causes all DVDs to stutter on my system, so I am not sure that one is a good recommendation.
