Computer blank screen

I was using World in Conflict when I heard a slight click from the computer and the computer blank screened. I reset the system and it booted up normally, but I'm not sure if it's a hd problem or something else? I had ran a diagnostic on the hd after it suffered a partition crash several months earlier, the program hadn't detected anything, so what could be the cause of the issue? The hd is an ATA133 Maxtor 250GB drive with 16mb cache.

Sounds like it's most likely memory related. Maybe you were using up too much ram so it froze?

Good point about the Ram, I turned down the settings of WiC, things seem to be working now. I'll keep check to make sure that it stays ok. Thanks.

The clicking is worrying, I'd back up everything ASAP, starting with the most important stuff.

Yeah, I didn't realize how serious the problem was until I did a hd diagnosis. It now appears that the master drive is failing, so I'm getting a new drive to transfer stuff over.
