SW vs. ST EaW Mod!

Yes, I know nobody plays Empire at War anymore (I only still play because of the Phoenix Rising mod), but I found something interesting on Moddb the other day. It's called Trek Wars: Federation at War and it adds the Federation as a playable faction. Unfortunately for us 'warsies', the UFP is balanced with the other factions (i.e. their capships are equal to ISDs), but if you know how to mess with XMLs you can do what I did and make them the weaklings they should be!

I made my own ST vs SW mod back in the day for that game. Good times.

I think the EAW and OP versions have disappeared into the abyss of the internet, but the SFC3 version is still available:

I probably still have the files on my old backup drive too. I made this all when I was like 14 :)

Despite being a warsie I made concessions for the sake of balancing. Since the pulse phaser in SFC3 fired six shots, I just decided to say pulse phaser = 6 turbolasers, and gave the ISD's 10 pulse phasers, tons of weight (making them an easy target), huge shields and ridiculous amounts of power generation (enough to overload all of the weapons 2x).

The fighter battles were actually really fun (ridiculously lightweight craft with weapons only in the forward arcs were sometimes hard to fight each other with, but the capships could never hit you if you had evasive maneuvers on), as were capship battles if you were clever. I discovered that it was ridiculously easy to kill a Death Star if you could lure it into an asteroid field since in the game, asteroids were insant-kill and the Death Star was bigger than most of the actual field :D
