I hear tales of incompatibilities w/Vista media player and the like for some of the more common codec packs.
So - is anyone else here stuck with Vista, and if so - what codec packs worked for you?

Use CCCP.

Agree with Phong, CCCP. Works great with WMP11.

Kazaalite and other trashpacks have problems because of the shitty workarounds they use. Another vote for CCCP here, its light and up to date.

Why do you even need them anymore? Who has media using Indeo 5 or whatever other bullshit codec you're talking about?

h264 isn't natively supported on Vista. Also, some file formats aren't supported natively.

I use CCCP. It generally works like a charm. Keep it updated though.

It is only in Vista Ultimate or Home Premium. Just like DVD playback.
I blame the licensing rules for the mpeg2 & mpeg4/h264 (that is it costs $$$).
