Confusing Speaker Problem.

Post by Anarchist Bunny »

For some reason, my computer is only transmitting the left front audio on my Logitech 5.1 speaker system. The odd thing is, that when I go to the speaker test(where it lists each speaker from Left front around and then the Subwoofer) all but the Right front & Left Rear speaker works(which under no circumstances works and I believe to be dead) yet even while that is running, all other audio output from my system is only coming from the left front speaker.

Here is what I have tried so far:

-reset all settings to default
-disabled motherboard built-in sound card in CMOS
-Rollback, reinstall, update drivers.
-Replace sound card(changed brand names as well, to a Audigy)
-Switch PCI slot sound card is plugged into
-Tested the three jacks to my 5.1 system in my DS(they work)
-switched the green, black and orange jacks arround(they will work if they are in the green port)

This problem presented in two different sound cards, of two different brands, in two different PCI slots(so the black and orange port can't be bad on both)

So far I've given up, and am considering transferring my files to the external HD and formating the HD. Til they my temporary solution will be to put a splitter into the green jack and plug Left Front and Right Rear into to deal.
