I know that my BIOS automatically takes a look at my CPU temp, so does my GPU. I often find dust in my house and my hardware is getting older and I am worried that there might be some overheating problem.

Can anybody reccomend me a good CPU/GPU temp software? Preferably freeware?

I had two completely sudden crashes today so I am a bit worried.

I use SpeedFan. Free, highly configurable, plus you can have it display any temp as a systray icon, with a tooltip giving the rest of them.

My CPU is above 50+ C. It's been higher, as the boards are cool. I am going to need a better cooler. Also, my GPU temp (I think its my GPU temp, because my HDD's temp is clearly marked and only twp pther chipsets need cooliong) is also 45+C.

Also, I my temp 1 is -40C! What fun.

What motherboard do you have? SpeedFan might already have a configuration available for it. Click the Info tab, then click the Get Config button at the bottom. Click the link, then use the wizard to find your motherboard make and model. If you find it, copy the ticket number the page gives you, then go back to SpeedFan and paste it into the Ticket box, and click OK.
