[ZP on SSBB] I could not agree more.

Agree with what? Yahtzee usually gets it right, but this wasn't a review, it was sour grapes against the people who nagged him into reviewing SSBB. It looks like every Nintendo review he does boils down to "ignore the game itself, look how TOTALLY AWESOME I am for going against the mainstream!"

I agree with his stance on it (not to mention the rant on fighting games), I never got what the fuck was so interesting about the Super Smash Bros. thing.
And as for the "unlock stuff in a party game by playing SP?" Yeah, that is fucking retarded too.

Well to be fair you can unlock characters through multiplayer as well. Snake can be unlocked by playing Shadow Moses 15 times. But having to unlock half the damn cast at all is retarded. At least Dead or Alive kept it down to maybe 2 or 3 unlockables, only one of which really took any serious effort to get.

Yes, but you still had to play Dead or Alive to unlock them.

I happen to like Dead or Alive, so that's hardly a big sticking point.

Well I know I liked it.

It amuses me that anyone considers Yahtzee as even remotely 'harsh' these days. I guess he understands his audience?
I found his Condemned 2 review contradiction particularly amusing. 'I liked it from the beginning but the end is stupid... oh and it's dumb from the start' Accurate?
But hey, let's all hate SSBB because... someone got nagged. Someone who is laughably positioned as 'harsh' even though he's been nothing of the sort for months.

He was pretty hilariously brutal about Umbrella Chronicles which was reviewed only a month or so ago. It's not that he's known as being harsh for the sake of it, he's just honest but tends to address the negative qualities which are ignored in the hyped-out reviews at other sites. Combining his reviews with some others usually gives a pretty balanced picture.

It's not hard to hate Umbrella Chronicles: it's complete shit.
I enjoy watching his reviews for games I've already played, in order to laugh. It's best when he says a game is good, then rants about how it's bad, then says it's good. I remember when he had a point, mysteriously before he was noticed by publishers. Hmmm, I wonder what happened there? LOL!

Okay. He doesn't like SSBB. It's not his thing. Yay? Who gives a shit?
GTA isn't my thing, maybe I should make an internet video where I talk like there's a banana up my ass about how much I hate GTAIV just so I can be controversial.
At least people like Angry Videogame Nerd are entertaining with their antics, this guy doesn't even have that.
Oh and he makes fun of the Wii's name! LOL NEW AND ORIGINAL!

I'd like to claim that all of the angry posts in this thread prove Stark wrong, but unfortunately Yahtzee really doesn't seem to have the bite he used to =/

I don't really see any angry posts, speaking for myself I'm just mildly bemused by some know-it-all I've never heard of before saying he doesn't like a particular game, I mean what's the point?

That's nowhere near as bad a Godzilla: Unleashed, where they expected you to unlock pretty much every monster in the game save for Godzilla, Rodan, and Anguirius. Not just unlock them either, but unlock and then buy them from an in game store, where every fucking thing cost like, 10,000 credits, and an average fight net you about 500 creds, THAT was fucking retarded (thankfully the game had a cheat to unlock everyone, and MOGUERA is fun as hell...too bad I'm not the one with the Wii).

F-Zero GX was a lot worse, not only did you have to fulfill ridiculous requirements playing the already near-impossible story mode to unlock new cars in the store, you then had to do the same damn grand pix over and over and over to get tickets to buy them. Oh, unless you took your memory card to the fucking arcade version, and spent your money there for ONE car each time. And there were no cheats.

I have to agree with his stance on the Wii in general. It's one big gimmick which is just being wasted by Ninty with these samey re-reruns of their beloved franchises. Whoop, you have Sonic and Snake in this time. And?
He may not be as harsh on some games that really deserve it, but I imagine even some pretty shit games today have some redeeming features to note like Crysis looking purty, if you can ever run it (ignore the rest of the game's cliché tripe).
A few months ago I looked forward to this, but as time's gone on I feel I'm decidedly "meh" about every Wii release.

Do I have to be a part of AU G&C to get this? I've never heard of the guy and the video just seemed like a rant by someone who's bad at FGs.

Google Zero Punctuation reviews. Despite the fact that Stark hates the guy for apparently selling out, his reviews are generally hilarious.

Stark hates everything, just to different degrees.

A video-game Maddox. Definitely has the same annoying fans who post topics weekly about every update, same "oh, but he's brutally honest!' hook. He can be funny, but it's obvious from the Brawl review he doesn't like fighting games to begin with, so...yeah.

I wouldn't downplay some of the good points he has at times. I do find myself agreeing with the sentiment that all Nintendo games are starting to feel too similar to each other. I haven't played Brawl that much and from what I have played it feels less like a jump like SS64 was to SSBM and more like the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo of Smash Bros.

Wow, we have our own branch now? It was so difficult to understand, of course.
He's nowhere near as harsh as Maddox (even if he's less of a retard than Maddox). In his early reviews he simply mocked big-name games, but since he's been 'noticed' he's mysteriously begun liking those same big name games. Hmmm.
The nerd fanboys haven't noticed, of course. And, sadly, they haven't noticed he's nowhere near as funny anymore: but noticing such things means I 'hate everything', and not that I've just got my eyes open. His Condemned 2 review was both all over the place review-wise and not in any way as funny as his early shit. But hey, guy's got a mortgage, y'know?

I find myself sporadically agreeing with him, I'm not sure anything about what he does could be called a review, but overall I usually find myself at the very least agreeing with his gripes about any given game.

'Agreeing with the gripes' in reviews that are now at worst neutral? You've played Condemned 2. He's supposed to be 'harsh' and 'griping'. He didn't even mention BEATING ALCOHOLISM TO DEATH WITH A BANNISTER.
Regardless, if people can't seen a strong trend towards moderation, that stuns me. Watch the Halo3 and Bioshock reviews again.

You know, all this criticism makes me think.. when was the last time an Aussie made a good game anyway?
