Nvidia Mobo and ATI GPU, any issues?

Post by Ryushikaze »

So, I'm planning on upgrading my GPU, and found a rather spiffy deal on this graphics card, but I'm worried because it's an ATI card, and my Mobo has onboard Nvidia chipsets. I just want to make sure that purchasing this and slotting it into my computer won't cause errors or have any appreciable compatability errors. If you need to know the specific Mobo, I can get the information shortly, I just don't the exact model off hand. It's a Gigabyte board, anyways.

You shouldn't have a problem. :)

ATI graphics cards and nVidia chipsets have been getting along just fine since 2001/02, and I've not heard any indication that's changed recently. You should be alright.

I've avoided the combination simply because of my brothers' past experiences. However, as others have said, you should be fine.
