Released as part of Kotaku Australia's "Game a Week" promotion.

It's pretty fun.
My best score thus far was 1520. I managed to get a part of about 15 and they were all alive until with just two or three hours left and a massive wave of zombies came.

Man that's difficult. It's annoying that the buildings can't take that many people - a hospital can only take three survivors? WTF?

Yeah, that's a pain in the neck, and I keep spontaneously dying just before the final night.
There's no rhyme or reason to it, the game just ends. But up until then, it's good.

I win!
Score: 2287
Survivors rescued: 10
Buildings held: 2/6
Combined Survivor Hours: 534
Zombies Killed: 756
Win Bonus: 250
Survivors lost: 1
Survivors infected: 25
Survivors turned: 7
At the end I held the mansion and the warehouse. Mansion because it holds 6 people, warehouse because it gives barricading material. I gave everyone grizzled and conserving ammo, and I stockpiled as much ammo as I could for the first two days. Then in the third day, I burned through all my ammo. Medicine and water were never much of an issue. Strategic fortifying is a must, as well as consolidating survivors into large groups.

At the start, I sent a single person to each building to capture it. Once all were captured, I started massive raiding (defending buildings is for wimps!). Once you have a few survivors rescued, use the raided materials to completely fortify every building. One or two survivors with pistols in a completely fortified building can hold off all attacks. Have as large a raiding party as possible, so that you kill all zombies you encounter while raiding in the first round (definitely before the zombies can attack a second time). I simply equipped the raiders with melee weapons (or empty rifles/pistols/shotguns) - no need to waste ammo. The only thing that had me worrying at the end was my supply of water (too many survivors, but 20 people raiding with water as the main priority was just able to keep me even).

The thing is this: don't try to keep your people safe in buildings - only put enough (2) in a building to fend off attacks - send the rest out on raiding. Your goal is to kill all zombies encountered while raiding before they can attack you (you need 2-3 attacks with melee weapons in order to kill a zombie). Once you have enough survivors to do that (or use firearms to compensate for too little people), you've practically won.

Half the fun is making up little stories to try and explain the hard decisions.
On the last hour, those sneaky gits in the Warehouse snook over to the factory and stole the last batch of ammo, leaving the 6 people in the Mansion with just 1 loaded pistol and a bunch of machettes and bats.
The Mansion party managed to only just survive due to their strength in numbers.
The group in the Factory easily made it through, while in the Warehouse, David Lovecraft, the insitgater of the theft was the only casualty. Rumours of 'friendly fire' were quickly denied by the other 2, both claiming he was about to turn into one of the zombies, though it was clear survivors justice had been meated out.
8 survivors
3 buildings
514 survivor hours
975 zombies killed

When I went raiding, I tended to abandon whole buildings, instead of leaving just a few people in there. My reasoning was that if the zombies attacked and overran the building, I would lose no survivors, plus I could clear it quickly and get the building back, and it would still be fortified.

I want to see a version of this with proper barricading numbers and a full city (and thus options, like raiding a gunstore rather than just choosing weapons and people. Naturally balanced by increased zombie levels in such areas, etc) Single player UrbanDead, really.
Edit: I just rescued Rebecca Wong. Unfortunately, Darth Wong was nowhere to be found. Clearly we need to start a zombie defense fund.

Very fun game. 3935 with 20 survivors is my best in 3 play-throughs.
