I'm making this topic in advance to inflate my own twisted ego.

GameSpot's put up a listing of their most anticipated games of the conference:

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Tomb Raider: Underworld
LEGO Batman
The Sims 3
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Spore
Soul Calibur IV
Saints Row 2
Resistance 2
Resident Evil 5
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
Madden NFL 2009
LittleBigPlanet
Killzone 2
Gears of War 2
FarCry 2
Fallout 3
Fable 2
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

So what are you looking forward to? I'm hoping that we get dates on Tales of Symphonia: The New World and an announcement of a new F-Zero for the Wii.

I'm definatly catching the G4 coverage of it - though for now, nothing's caught my eye in "Must Play"

More than anything else, Rock Band 2 and whatever stuff Nintendo's been keeping up their sleeve.

Since we know nothing from Nintendo (besides Animal Crossing and ANOTHER Mario sports title) you know they're going to give us something big.

Fallout, Silent Hill, Halo Wars, and Rock Band 2 more than anything. Most of the other stuff I am "meh" to.

No news on Mirror's Edge, a shame. Looking forward to Left 4 Dead and Dead Space though, everything else just got a huge "yet another sequel/clone?". I hear we need yet ANOTHER Mario game, good to see Nintendo is still as conservative as ever.

Dude Dead Space looks hilariously hackneyed. :) I know it's not another reskinned shooter, but it's hardly original.

Fallout 3, because I always wanted to play Fallout the way Bethesda is trying to present it, and it seems like it's gonna be awesome.

Mmm, Spore and Fallout 3...

I just can't bring myself to be excited about Spore. I wasn ever hugely enamoured with it originally, but even the release of the creature creator - intuitive though it was and hilarious as it was to create a giant penis on legs to wobble around, I just can't be bothered with it. As far as sandbox good times go, Little Big Planet probably has it beat, in my mind.

That cynicism aside, I cackle with fanboyish glee at too many games on that list.

Why am I the only one with love for Madworld?

Or are people getting a Project HAMMER vibe from this, where it shows up, wows people and then disappears off the face of the earth?

Yeah, I give it a 50/50 chance of them pulling it off well, it's a pretty sad look at the current generation of games when "no HUD" and "in space/low gravity" is considered different. But it look's like harder sci-fi than other sci-fi games (lol mass effect super stealth in space) so I'm hoping it's at least successful, maybe something other than MODERN AND FUTURE COMBAT FPS 356 and WW2: NAZI MIDWAY PEARL HARBOUR PACIFIC 402 AAA titles are made.

And thank's Sylas, I completely missed mirror's edge there, will have to see that demo for sure. Mirror's edge kind of reminds me of prince of persia, and could be really cool if it's not shit.

It's got an interesting take on the art, and the stuff you can do to people is hideously over the top and approaches non sequitur violence. The motion controls might even be well implemented. It will probably never get released here.
But it look's like harder sci-fi than other sci-fi games (lol mass effect super stealth in space)
Dude, it's got the Thing in it, and the ship is takes place on is a planetcracker designed to chew up whole planets for mining purposes. It looks like it could be a fun game, but it's notl ikely to be any 'harder' than Mass Effect.

Incidentally, the Normandy's stealth, though silly in principle, is surprisingly realistic in terms of operation. The simple turn of phrase 'you will cook if you use it for too long' helps.

You're not. I was reading about it in Nintendo Power, and it sounds like it's going to be bad ass.

Ford Prefect wrote: It will probably never get released here.

It will be. Here's a quote from the NP article.
NP wrote:
Because the game is being developed primarily for a Western audience, the team is making a concerted effort to find out what tickles our funny bone on this side of the Pacific.

"We talk a lot what makes Americans laugh," says Nishikawa. "We go through a lot of American comics and movies to learn what kind of over-the-top violence is out there and what we might be able to incorporate into the game. We're always looking for something that's so extreme and unrealistic that it's funny. We have many, many meetings about how to get that just right. It's a lot of work!"

Another game for the Wii I want to see is Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels. I've been anticipating a lightsaber game since we first found out about the Wii.

Just as long as they use something similar to Die By The Sword and not just "WAGGLE TO WIN! LOL!"

The only one I am really interested in is Fable 2 and possibly Fallout 3. I wouldn't mind giving Far Cry 2 and the Force Unleashed a try though.

I, at least, am quite curious to see what its going to be. Besides, we'll probably get a name to go with it, eliminating the need for usage of the increasingly-wearing "unnamed" designation.
