Why are so many of my CDs reporting back as corrupt?

Star Wars: Empire at War
Age of Empires III: The War Chiefs
Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
Sam and Max Freelance Police

Every one of these games I am getting a corrupt file message when I try to install them and many more. It seems the file is on the CD itself. I've tried going to technical support but all I get is "That can't happen" but I'm always getting messages the corrupted file is one the CD placed on my computer.

Does any one have an idea whats going on?

It could be a problem with the drive itself. Have you tried testing them on another PC?

Also, read /write DVD roms are so cheap these days...maybe $25 with S/H at New Egg...

for example, this one

It could also be a case of bad RAM - typically with a bad drive you start getting problems reading the discs at all, while if the only symptom is corruption RAM is a possible suspect.

Run the memtest utility from http://www.memtest86.com/ . It'll tell you in plain English if there is something wrong with your RAM.

EDIT: removed some things that do not apply after rereading the OP
