So the Enhanced version is out.

Has anyone even managed to get it downloaded? Singapore's terrible bandwidth aside, attempts to download it thus far have met with failure. I am guessing the servers are being overloaded, but they should have foreseen it, right?

I bought it yesterday, and it's been downloading overnight; it should be done by the time I get home today. I also had a terrible time getting it to start. I didn't really get any speed on it until early this morning.

EDIT -- I really hope that this does well, and that it means more mature (in tone and content, not just rating) games are made.

I wil get it boxed.

It's already done well enough for them to waste nearly a year polishing and re-releasing it. Sadly, the RPG playerbase is a bunch of retards (just go to a random forum and say 'I think Witcher is an RPG and see what happens) and the game is seen as simplistic and bland compared to the icon of complex versatitility that is games like Oblivion and Mass Effect.

I'll grab this as soon as I can, Witcher is one of the best games of the year.

Wasn't there supposed to be a patch or something for people who bought the original game?

I can't decide whether to get it boxed or not. I've already got the original so I can download away, if I want. Tough choice. Boxed version doesn't come out here until next week.

The download is like 1.4Gb. It's pretty crazy.

Fuck it, I'm downloading it. I paid for the game once, I'm not so much of an idiot-and-his-money that I'm gonna pay RRP again when they're offering a better version for free.

I'm considering getting the boxed version if I can't get the patch downloaded.

But, the boxed version here in Singapore doesn't get a lot of the free stuff, namely the book. They didn't bother to translate it into English apparently.

Of course, that doesn't mean I won't get the box set when the price goes down

Holy fuck. The install progress finished- then the message comes up "Modifying game files. This process may take up to two hours. Manually interrupting this process will necessitate re-installation of the game."

I decided to go to fileshack to download the file. It's much faster. My only hope is that there's no problems with installing the patch.

Holy shit registering on their lameo website is lame. Where's my activation email? WHO KNOWS? Can I install yet? FUCK NO.

Worked without a hitch for me (and the DL was very fast as well).

Of course it then always crashed on starting, so I'm reinstalling the game again...

Yeah I've tried to create four stupid forum accounts, and never recieved a single activation email so I can't register the fucking thing. This, everyone, is QUALITY. Idiots.

LUL. The downloaded patch doesn't even work; cracks a shit over bad checksums. That's fucking awesome. I'll just get a cracked version and laugh at incompetent idiots trying to 'stop' piracy by being annoying as fuck.

Yeah I had problems trying to install. Something like ".Net 3.0 framework cannot be installed" and I have .Net framework 3.0 installed already.

What the heck.

The file it complains about is present in a normal installation, about 2k and lists a bunch of files (blood and sex related). During the install, it has a problem about it, and it's now zero k and empty. Huzzah.

I'll be buying this anew. Got the original as a gift, and I HATE downloading excessively large patches, especially of this nature.

Well, a first impression is a first impression. Have you noticed any significant changes? Is it really enhanced?

Your old save games still work, so I loaded up my last save from my previous (neutral) playthrough - they've changed the voice actor for Dandelion completely. I preferred the original voice actor. There's definitely additional lines, and the animations aren't nearly as boring and samey as they were in the original. I'll have to get to the meat of the game to see all the extra dialog and such, not to mention their elimination of the clone-people problem.
