Well it's that time of year again, time for upgrades of the old computer.
This year I'm going with a monitor upgrade, specifically I'm going all out.
Here are my list of requirments
1. Less than 500$
2. Greater than 20"
3. This is for gaming not graphic designing
4. Adjustability,
5.Max number of Ports(DVI/HDMI/VGA/AVGA/BBC/MSNBC whatever else can be crammed in there)
With those requirements what does the gallery recommend?

A TV, and I'm not kidding. New HD TVs in the 20 something inch range will run you less than $500, have a crapton of input ports, and look beautiful for games.
As for the adjustability, how adjustable are we talking?

I, on the other hand, disagree, because my experience with TV's (Anecdotal, sure) as monitors is that they look like fetid ass cheese covered in liquid crystals unless you're TV is 1080P (Which I'm not sure exist at the +20/-30 inch range), and frequently have issues with signal lag that would make any gaming you want to do require excess calibration.

I personally use an ASUS MW221C, and I have nothing but praise for it. IT cost my just under $300 bucks and I had to pay for transport from another part of the country. It's a great quality monitor, but it just looks pretty sexy.

Which brands have you been using? I've not noticed any issues with Westinghouse HDTVs, but they might be an exception rather than the rule.
