A while back I intended to buy a gaming rig tricked out with everything imaginable, but I ran into some problems and I had to settle for a new laptop after my old computer died. I bought a Compaq laptop on special on the last week of September, but I've noticed a wierd thing with the monitor. Near one side, there's an area about 3/16" in diameter, oval shaped that resembles a drop of water, but it's underneath the plastic screening. I can't see it when the monitor is off. It's tolerable but having it there annoys me. Any of you guys have similar problems with laptops? If so do you know what it is?
Is there anything I can do to fix it or should I try and collect on the warranty? The issue that's stopping me from marching back into Best Buy right now is that I bought this computer on special because it had a better graphics card (and it was cheap) but unfortunately servicing it will cost more.
Anyone got any ideas or should I pry open my wallet and hop on the bus?

You might be able to send it into HP/Compaq and have them fix it long as it's under warranty. I had a similar issue with my HP laptop a few years back and it was shoddy wiring or some such, but I don't advise trying to fix it yourself.
