Weird Compiz transparency issue

Post by Braedley »

So reading /. today, and found this. Decided to give it a try. It's essentially Wine with a few usability perks, and they're offering it for free today. I used this to install Steam (just to see if TF2 will run nicely), and there's an odd issue where the steam window transparency channel will be set to virtually (and pretty much randomly, although it doesn't appear to be a uniform distribution) any possible value. This isn't really a problem if the value ends up being more than 50%, although it's still an annoyance. This also only happens under Compiz, as window transparencies aren't common under Metacity (i.e. the opacity is 100% under Metacity). I've already set Steam windows as not supporting ARGB values (under window rules in the settings manager), but that hasn't worked. Short of turning plugins off and on, I don't know what to do now.

My niece: "Yeah, from the fridge!"
