Been getting bored with EQ2 and been thinking about returning to WoW. So beside the Litch King what else has happened to WoW in the last 10 months or so. I quit a few months after the last expansion went live.

Hell I don't even remember if my characters are still there, if not whats a good server thats not pvp.

apart from Quel'Danas dailies (and maybe daily quests in general) there hasn't happend much you need to know about (well Varian is back and you no longer need attument for Ony).

there's probably some TBC instances that went live after you quick (though only Magister's Terrace is 5-man of those).

Not that much aside from new abilities and new place to farm Moose. Really the expansion is like the last but ice instead of fire everywhere, and undead instead of demons.

Come back more if friends or whatnot. Not for some vastly new gameplay or whatnot.

Ghost Riders is mostly right, however he ignores that Blizzard did learn things from Classic and TBC, so there are a number of subtle improvements this time around. For one, quests are more varied and rarely depend on abysmal drop rate items, while far more mobs named as targets in quests have some way of assigning credit for the kill then who taps it, or they tend to be summoned rather then respawn based. Its hard to guess how useful professions will be in the end, but the new (mechanic) additions to them all seem logical and much more useful then the mechanics of TBC and earlier (for example, blacksmiths gain the ability to add sockets to items and can again make keys, engineering is moving towards special "enchants" rather then items like the parachute cloak, enchanters can now use special scrolls to put enchantments on to sell at the AH etc.).

So the basic game didn't really change fundamentally, but a lot of the little irritations that existed previously have been addressed so the game is more polished and enjoyable.

They also expanded their idea of Badge gear from heroics and such, and now you can get actual Tier 7 gear from a badge vendor. Another cool thing they put in are pieces of gear that are Bind to Account which can be equipped from 1-80, can be traded between any of your characters, and scale with your level effectively giving your alts free leveling gear all the way to 80.
These pieces also give a good bonus to XP, something like 10% per piece of gear.

Really? Could you provide more information for me on this, since I'm an obsessive alt leveler!

The gear is available in Dalaran, and as far as I can tell, the shoulders are +10% experience. There are also weapons you can get. The BoA items are interesting, because they scale in 2 different ways as you level. The item stats are always blue quality for your level range. Also, for the shoulders, when you buy them at level 80, they give the final armor type. What this means is that if you buy some mail BoA shoulders, and send them to your level 1 hunter, they will turn into leather shoulders until you reach level 40, when they will become mail shoulders. Same for plate. Leather and cloth don't change.

I don't know of any others, and as my guild has yet to start hitting the heroic instances (where the emblems drop to buy these items) I don't know if there are any other item slots that will be filled.

Thank you. Something to (no joke) look forward to, don't have to keep buying boosts for my alts now, just buy as many of these things as I can, mail them, and faster leveling here we come!

EDIT :: Frankly it's something that is LOOOOONG over due. Seriously once you have an end game character and you want to reroll for some fun, leveling should automatically be made easier; I mean do you know how PAINFUL it is to level a Priest? You're either OOM after 2-3 mobs or you have auto-attack mobs (read wand) in order to stay mana efficient. THAT IS NOT MY IDEA OF FUN Blizz! At least now he will be semi-twinked up (he already is, but this sounds very promising), and he'll get an XP boost too! Zoot!
