Bolters and Force Fields in Dark Heresy

We took a break from Vampire over the weekend to play some Dark Heresy and during the game a number of toys got used for the first time. The results were notable enough that I'm posting them here for the edification of my fellow gamers and possible discussion
1) Corpus Conversion and Seal Wounds: Holy fuck does this combo turn a psyker into a heal monkey. Plenty of overburn to convert to additional range, additional healing dice, and additional targets healed. That does mean there's a risk of rolling 9s every round of operation, but #2 is actually what put a stop to that.
2) Bolters. The game stats might not be as lethal as the fluff suggests, but as someone who almost sent two PCs to the morgue with bolter fire, they are damned lethal.
3) The BBG was protected by a refractor field over lightweight body armour and I was wondering how this would turn out. 2d10 with no reduction for penetration is a lot of armour and it did totally protect him from most shots. Most, but not all and he was on the receiving end of long las and manstopper loaded autogun fire. Enough hits and enough unimpressive shield rolls versus high damage hits and he was hurting bad by the time an Assassin closed to melee with his Lathe forged sword. I was actually expecting the PCs to kill him the way they were pounding at him, although they managed to take him alive.
