Dwarf Fortress: TallLabored Strikes the Earth! (sign ups)

Post by Crossroads Inc. »

Attention! Come one come SEVEN, now seeking brave, adventuring (and foolish) members to join us in seeking fame and fortune in "TALL-LABORED"
First seven comers get the 1st positions and then others will be added as Immigrants arrive... The setting for our brave endevor is the following valley:

Image

While it may seem peaceful, I have loaded both the "Evil Orc" mod as well as "Primitive civilization" mod which both add a significant amount of angry and rampaging creatures to the otherwise idyllic Dwarfish world.

Bare in mind, Causalities shall be high, the fighting fierce, and the booze flammable!

Tall-Labored... STRIKE THE EARTH!

I'm in. I'm kinda starting to like watching characters with my username on them getting horribly slaughtered :) .
"Death before dishonour" they say, but how much dishonour are we talking about exactly? I mean, I can handle a lot. I could fellate a smurf if the alternative was death.

Dwarves- because our sterotypes form a stable and sane society unlike the bloody elves, "generalist" humans, mindless orcs...

You'll need a chef. Seeing as how I have an impeccable record as a dwarven cook (only one civilization destroyed due to my actions!), I shall offer my services.

It Began seemingly innocently with one of the MountainKing soothsayers... He had been taken by a mood and in his fevered visions proclaimed he he had obsevred a place flowing with the Hot blood of Armok, MAGMA! Such a rare and prized resource mad the King eager to posses it, yet, the place the soothsayer had foretold was deep in Orc and Goblin lands...
Image

He would need the bravest, the fiercest, the Strongest, and most expendable dwarfs to go...
"Here ye here ye! The mission before you is a great and glorious one! You are ordered tpo seek out the flowing Blood of Armok and found a colony that shall flow with metal and riches!"
"And not get killed doing it!" shouted one of the seven as the rest laughed. The King smirked.
"If you last even a year ill be impressed..."

And with that the seven were hurriedly shown outside...

Sign me up. I'd offer my services as Chef, but it appears you already have one, so I'll take any significant menial labor task available when I arrive.

Korvan is also the name of my Dwarf hunter in WoW, so I'd like to sign him up as well. He's a skilled skinner/leatherworker as well, but will do any sort of work provided that there's booze available at the end of the day.

I want to put someone who is not me forward for dwarfing. I think Chris is more than deserving of being dwarfed RIGHT NOW as a 'welcome back' present from the board. I have no idea what an appropriate job for him would be however.

OK, So ive been thinking it over and Ive decided something... I STINK at trying to make an interesting story based Dwarf Game... Id been playing and, well Ive found I ve done nearly the exact same thing every other game... different names or no... I dig into the mountain, carve out a nice neat fortress, build walls, and play conservativly untill goblins show up... But this isnt supposed to be like that...

So, for the past few days, in fact right after I started this,... I had another idea itching in my brain... one thats actually been leading me toward NEW ideas, new ays of building and a new type of Fortress...

So.. Ive decided Im going to hit reset, ((this is why I ALWAYS backup a starting location you know))

Same place, same area, same dangers... But im using a new story.. a different one, soemthign thats been inspering me... Now dont worry, all of you who signed up will still get your names used... Just not in the first immagration wave...

What shall I be doing?

The HitchHikers guild, to Dwarf Fortess!!!
