Palm Treo Smartphone

Post by Dark Flame »

I hope this is in the right place. I did a search for "Palm Treo Smartphone" and the only hits were from here, so hopefully this is okay.

Anyways, that's the phone I have. And I don't like it. Recently, the charger hasn't been getting a good connection and today even when it was connected for hours, the battery didn't charge at all. Hoping to make it work better I turned off the phone, and for some reason I don't know, I decided to take out the battery. I put the battery back in and I realize all my saved text messages and pictures are gone.

This has pretty much been the last straw for me, but I'm hoping that a cheap fix will work. Is this phone pretty much junk? Should I just buy a new charger and never take the battery out again? Anyone else have one of these?

A friend of mine's been rather fed up with his own Palm. I haven't heard too many positive things about their phones, for the most part.

I have a Palm Treo and along with the constant butt dialing I've had to replace it twice and it generally makes me want to hit it repeatadly with a mallet.

Not my favorite purchase.

Did you make sure the little red charging light went on when you plugged it in? (That is if your Treo has that light/function).

Anyway sounds to me more like your battery needs to replaced.

Yup, the little red light was on. I've got a new charger and battery in the mail so hopefully that will fix it until I can get a new phone.

That is really odd... What model do you have? I have used several Treos and no such thing has happened to me (they do have lot of issues... they are unstable and the OS freezes from time to time. They also reboot sometimes if an application has a conflict. Battery is not really good and neither is reception... but I haven'r run into the issue you just described.

I have the 700 model. I've run into poblems with it freezing too. There have been days where it won't do anything until it drains the battery and I recharged it.
