With the Godfather I for PC being an incredible suck, I'm somewhat reluctant to try the second one. Gamespot says it sucks (5,5/10, but who gives a flying fuck about what gamespot thinks anyway now), some other reviewers gave it a 7/10, but it still leaves me wondering.
So, anyone here has tried this game? Any thoughts? Mind you, I liked Scarface: The World is Yours even when everyone said its boring and repetitive.

Re: The Godfather II
It fucking sucks. It looks like Godfather 1 (ugly as shit) and appears to have further simplified the gameplay. The vehicles handle even worse, the plot is contrived and it controls like a bag of shit.
Don't fucking bother. Maybe if you really liked Godfather 1, but this just feels fucking awful on every level.

Tried a friend's copy of it... I don't think it's that bad, although if you've ever played any GTA game from III onwards, any Saints Row game or even the first Godfather game, there's absolutely zero reason to pick this up.

Did you play on PC? The mouse and keyboard controls are brutally bad. I mean they are actually WORSE than the first game's mouse and keyboard controls which were already fairly suspect.DaveJB wrote:Tried a friend's copy of it... It was the 360 version... although in all honesty, control wasn't brilliant on that either, at least not compared to GTA4 for instance. In either case, it sounds like we've got another crappy console>PC port on the loose.

Sure there is; you can finish the game in 8-9 hours and get 800 achievement points. If you try really hard, you might even die!DaveJB wrote:Tried a friend's copy of it... Let's make each business a linear level and even though you can vault over obstacles on the main map, you can never do this in a business. Also, business owners hang out on the roof, in pits or featureless places in a maze of concrete pipes because... lazy level design.
