Home router reccomendations

I'm in a need of a new router, and would like some advice. Suggestions for specific models might be less useful since i'm buying in Israel, but brand names and mostly what to avoid.

Preferences: Not too loud, Wifi, 4 ports ethernet, capable of WAP2. The wifi doesn't have to be particularly strong, since the distances involved are under 10m for the entire apartment.

One thing that would be nice is for the router to be good enough for Wifi Lan parties, around the ten or so computers at the same time.

Any ideas?

Linksys WRT54GL (note the L). 802.11g, silent, 4 ethernet ports + uplink, WPA2.

Linksys WRT54GL. I've been using one for two years and it's been nothing but reliable. It's got all the features you need, and if there's any you miss odds are there's a firmware that can supply them.

a) is it for Internet access only or are you streaming media from a home server.
b) are you likely to get any other 802.11n devices in the near future?

If yes and yes, then consider a draft-n router.

If you can get them, A-Link RR24AP(i+) or Telewell TW-EA510v3 or newer. Both of those wipe the floor with everything else I've seen, have a wide variety of features, easily configurable and support what you need.

They might not be easily available, though, as both A-Link and Telewell are Finnish companies. A-Link at least has worldwide sales. Trendnet also has stuff that would fit the bill, but no idea on availability in your neck of the woods.

Stay far away from D-Link.
