Avast! interfering with my firefox?

If I turn Avast!'s on access protection off, my firefox can't connect. And apparently even with Avast on, I can't connect to gmail nor can I login sites like deviant art or facebook. How can I get around Avast's meddling features, so that I can use firefox without Avast on - or at least view gmail or login to deviant art or facebook?

I uninstalled avast, and now my firefox can't browse the internet and I'm now stuck with goddamn Idiot Exploiter. Fuck.

Have you tried checking the Windows Firewall settings to make sure it's not blocking Firefox?

This has never happened before, mang. And somehow I can't use Firefox without avast, which is stupid.

Fuck it, I've switched to Opera. Nuts to this crap.

It's possible that your browser just got corrupted in some way. It happens.

If that's the case, you could just uninstall and remove Firefox from your comp then download and reinstall it again.

Instead of uninstalling your previous one, you can go to portableapps and download the portable version of ff3.5, it gets the same effect as trying a fresh reinstall, but you don't have to hose your settings and stuff just to see if it works.

I tried that. Nothing happened. So I got Opera instead.
