in the year 11,000 space is controlled by the navigator guild, the Padasha Emporer Wong attempts to make reforms and bring reason after thousands of years of the Butlerian Jihad. The Noble houses of the SDN strive against one another for control and seek alliances. The Spice only exists on one planet, Arakis. Gather forth your landsmen, your assassins, your mercinaries and your guile.
How about a DUNE STGOD?

You're volunteering to GM a vast universe which is barely described by the novels, with virtually no hard numbers on what the technology is capable of or how the economy (other than Arrakis) is set up? A setting in which ill-defined powers of precognition and persuasion are a key element, and in which inevitable 'my assassin killed your lord - no he didn't - yes he did' arguments consume the discussion thread? Are you a professional masochist or just an enthusiastic amateur?
Also, you just know that Shep would join and go 'screw cultural prohibition against use of atomics, I want some boom boom'.

yeah he would probaly spend all his points in Family atomics, just to find out that none of the navigators would allow him to transport them....

How did they do FTL before the Navigators? I can see Shep going down the machine path to violently conquer the galaxy.

They used computers before they discovered navigators, then the Fundies had the Butlerian Jihad and they destroyed all the computers.... (unless you know Kevin J. Anderson's rape of the story)
however there are Ghoula (clones), and Mentats (human super-computers), Navigators, and mind fucking Bene-Gesserit

According to the hilariously bad KJA ultra-prequels, humans flew through space with some sort of vagueness drive.
Really, ships have a top speed. For some reason, the top speed of whatever that drive does just lets people fly directly from point A to point B in a month or two. Also, they don't have inertial dampening technology, so.. uh. Stars must be really near each other.
They fire explosive cannonballs at each other in combat. Really. And ramming actions. And fighters armed with conventional explosives (because using nukes in space is WRONG!). Oh. And every planet in the ENTIRE SETTING consists of one whole mid-sized city.

Yes, but he refers to nukes. The substitution was clearly marked, so go burn like a candle

All though one is sure that even Mark could find a Bene Gesserit that would love him long time, but then she would be turning him into her slave while doing it...
