Question about Avast

Post by argueritha »

Is it more important to have the internet security set higher or Avast? You know how you can change the security rate if you click on "internet Protected Mode: on". And then if you click on Avast and change the "web" security sensitivity? Well which one is more important to have set on high. I dont want to have both on hight cause it slows down my internet. Thanks

If you must use IE, then leave the security settings at default (medium/medium-high) with protected mode on. That assigns all IE processes and processes it spawns a low integrity level, meaning they have more limited write access. It's still IE, so it's still not great security, but protected mode being on won't affect your internet speed, and anything that is functionally affected by it is probably bad for you anyway.

You should keep Avast on medium or high. As an active program, this will affect your system speed overall, but not your internet speed especially.
