You just register there and plug the key into Steam, and it unlocks the multi campaign 'beta' (so-called because it seems to be intended as a test product for full inclusion in future TWs).

How stable is it?

It has not crashed or otherwise exploded, if that's what you're asking.

My friend and I have encountered an issue where, for the first few fights, we could take control of enemy AI armies as intended. But then this stopped working out of the blue and it forces auto-resolve instead. We haven't figured out why this is happening yet.
