World in Conflict (360) Good, Bad?

I've been in the mood lately for some RTS playing, my platform is limited to the 360, so I've been thinking of WiC. Is it any good, at least worth one play through?
I don't give a shit about the story, all I care about is a decent selection of units and easy resource management (I don't want to be spending an hour micro-managing skull harvesting or something).
Anyone have any first hand info?

Do you just have absolutely no computer available or are you afraid it won't run the game? It runs on a huge variety of systems, including my asstastic laptop. Download the demo and see how you like it, there's hardly any resource management in the usual sense other than reinforcement points which have a fixed amount and automatically regenerate.

Oh I have a PC (I'm posting from one
) I just prefer to game from my 360 as the controller is a lot easier on my buggered hands then a keyboard. I am downloading the demo though, it should run, the PC is only two years old.

WiC doesn't need much dexterity; WASD for moving the camera and everything else is mouse. If you can hit QE for abilities that's pretty much everything you'll need.
And if it was on 360 I would buy it again.

How much worse do you think this would be if you were playing along side the Live crowd?
EDIT: This under no circumstances means that WiC is a bad game, it's fucking awesome, but when I think about doing multiplayer I always try to imagine the caliber of player i'll be interacting with.
EDIT the 2nd: And on Live, the caliber of player is rarely high.

Aside from 'omg lol consoles rar' I seriously doubt the quality of online players would be particularly worse, since even the 'intellectual' 'mature' PC gamers can't work out how to do it. I'd just play with my friends, anyway, and if people can't play for shit Zak and I will go to the top of the leaderboard in no time again.
Oh wait, sorry, PC gamer elitism. A console is a platform where I can play with way more people I actually want to play with and WiC would work fine with a 360 controller, so there's no issue at all.

I suppose WiC wouldn't be too hard to work on a controller. I'm just so used to playing RTS games on a PC, so the transition is difficult. And it's not PC elitism. I don't mind console gamers at all. Most of my friends are primarily console gamers. I just hate the XBOX Live frat boy retard crowd. Unless Live's gotten better recently, Since my friends lost interest in gaming i'm not online much.

WiC benefits a lot from not needing base micro; if you can select your guys, use the TA/reinforce menu and use special attacks you're done. Shit, if Halo Wars or Endwar had been better games, people would be over the idea that consoles can't play RTS games.
It's almost like the heavy mouse-dependent nature of early RTS games was due more to poor UI than actual needs!
BTW WiC and Witcher are two console ports I really miss. Witcher would have been sexual on 360.

Witcher 2 is supposed to be released on console, after the PC version. I'm not holding my breath though.

When I looked to see what was happening with Witcher 2 I couldn't find anything, so I imagine it'll be some time until anything surfaces. In the meantime we've got Metro 2033.

It's rare, but it's a damn sight more likely than the chucklefucks that infest most every public game I play on any PC game.

The problem with Live is that you get to hear them, because most retards on PC don't know how to set up Ventrilo or Teamspeak.
As for WiC, I agree that it should adapt well to console controls, since unit selection often is reduced to "select all", and due to your role you'll be using a limited type of unit anyway. Guess it'd be a bother when trying to have your units attack from different angles, or when trying to mix in different unit types, like transports, but it's not as mouse intensive as regular RTSesses.
Come to think of it... I've just finished Transformers 2, I'm half way through Venetica... Fuck you, I'm reinstalling WiC! I never got to finish the campaign, anyway.

You have to be the only person in the world who sees voice comms a disadvantage. I hear people complain about annoying voice chat on live, but I guess inever notice because I use other channels.

When you say the 'problem' with live is you get to 'hear them' when in fact you don't have to hear anyone you don't want to sure makes it sound negative and ignorant. Of course, PC games with internal voice chat are still full of noisy tards. Pub channels in pub games are full of crap, thus tbd point that you don't 'have to hear them' at all.
Of course if you want to play a multi game and are scared of hearing people you're the one with the problem.
