Music programs for PC?

Post by adam_grif »

Whilst bored I decided to start composing some music using the GHMix program that ships with Guitar Hero 5. This is all well and good, except that there's no way I can see to actually convert it into some kind of file and transfer it to my PC. As such, are there any similar programs on PC, ideally ones that are similar to use (i.e. select type of instrument, place notes, specify how long each one goes for etc etc)?

Freeware is also ideal of course. I've heard of Garage Band on Macs, but I've never used it.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

I'm not familiar with the program you mention, but GuitarPro may be the sort of thing you're looking for. I think they have a demo, try it and see if it's the kind of program you need.
