Computer Trouble

I am having a problem with my computer. When I leave my computer on overnight it becomes somewhat unresponsive when I go to use it the next morning. What happens is that I can move the mouse cursor just fine but when I click on icons, hit the keyboard shortcut to bring up the start menu, nothing happens. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del works but when I click on "Cancel", the screen goes black and nothing happens. Ctrl+Shift+Esc doesn't work either. Sometimes, things will go back to normal after maybe two minutes of waiting after pressing a key. This problem sometimes takes place if I am away for 10 minutes. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. This computer is brand new (opened and used for the first time on April 9). If you need any more information, just let me know.

I'm not sure yet as to your problem, but this could help to troubleshoot it: Have you tried to manually terminate and restart Explorer? That is, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, entering Task Manager, clicking on the Processes tab, and then highlighting explorer.exe (there should only be one instance of it) and right-clicking it to end its process. After that, click on the "File" menu, and then "Run", type explorer.exe and launch it. This should create a fresh instance of your desktop and, at least temporarily, restore functionality to it.

Also, you could try using CCleaner, in case it's just a weird Explorer extension gone haywire.
