Thumb Drive Crash, Need File Recovery Help!

Hello.
My thumbdrive just went insane.
Specifically, some kind of problem that windows 'fixed'. Now I have 11 gigabytes of files that I need to fine out what FILE0001.CHK actually is.....
Anyway, many moons ago, I had another hard drive crash, and someone linked me legal software to fix it. I recovered most of my files.
This is very important, as I did alot of work on a program I'm working on since the last back up. It's amazing what a week of 'holy shit' moments can do.....
