Hey all. Does anyone here play League of Legends? I've been playing a bit with some friends (here and elsewhere) and wanted to see if SDN had a group that plays the game. It's entertaining, and I figured if you could find decent players at random somewhere, here's a place to avoid the mouth-breather gamer crowd.

For those who don't play, it's basically a remake of the famous DotA Mod for Warcraft 3 (I never played it). The idea is that it's basically an RTS but you only get one character hero, on a team of 5 vs another team of 5. The base automatically sends out waves of little minion guys and you rush around battling enemy heroes and crushing waves of enemy peons. Each character (There's 60 characters) has their own sets of special moves, and you buy items and such. Each round is independent from the last, except with minor upgrades for playing lots of games.

It's pretty fun if you want to give it a spin, but I wanted to see if anyone played and wanted to hook up with 2 good players who are tired of bad teammates.

I sort-of kind-of play it, on the recommendation from some of my coworkers. I can't say I'm hugely impressed (though that's partially on account of the two games I've tried both lagging out), but I'm not ready to give up on it yet, especially since it's free. I may yet give it a few more spins to see if I like it.

I play LoL frequently with some of my friends, and mostly with Internet people inside the "Reddit" channel. My favorite heroes are probably Ryze, Rammus, and Shaco (with an AP-centric Lich Bane build), although I do play many of the other characters from time to time. I loved DotA too, but since LoL is free to play and Warcraft 3 is not, peer momentum seemed to nudge me much closer to the next generation.
