So has anyone played it, if so good, bad or in the middle somewhere.

I've seen Stark playing it. It's not out here 'til Friday, and I'm sufficiently cool on the idea that it's not a day one purchase, though I'll probably pick it up eventually when the internets have shattered any positive expectations and I'm therefore not able to be disappointed by Molyneux's failure to deliver on his wild overpromises.

That's a really long way of saying 'no i haven't played it'. :)

I haven't had the chance to play it yet but I plan on getting it on Friday. The problem is finding the time to play it while I'm still in the middle of New Vegas.

Played it for about an hour and it is a dumbed down Fable 2. Though at least the dog does a few things more.

Friend beat it in seven hours, and he's slow at games these days. So, maybe a rental a ways down the line.

Some people say Fable is really strong on the side quests and exploration side of things so I was always confused when people complained about its length.

I'll agree with you for Fable 2, but did he make any for this one?

Molyneux basically promised deeper interaction with people and a deeper story with the Revolution being the first half, and being King the second at the very least.

It turns out there is less to do with people and being King is basically the last 10-15% (Hour) of the game. Sure, there's the claim of side quests and what not...but that's just to pad things out while one waits for DLC or just trades the thing in.

I like it. It's 'dumbed down' in that they ditched the awful list-heavy UI. I'm nit sure why they also ditched the wheel menus, though.

It does seem very short. I'm nearly finished and I've barely had time to buy every house in the world. If it's as short as GR says I won't be keeping it.

Which is a shame because it's a much better game than 2. They've obviously tried at address a lot of flaws with the quest system, the Godfather 2 real estate management, the attempt to make melée/ranged as interesting as magic, etc. I'll see what happens in the endgame but I'm positive do far.

Just like Vanquish. Fun game, four hours long.
