MAC: Packer software

Post by Thanas »

Hi there. Does anybody know of a Zip packer for Mac that delivers good results with regards to compression? I got the problem that somebody needs one and I don't really use a Mac.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? Unfortunately the available file compression software for Macs is pretty pitiful. Cnet has a list of some of the ones available, though Stuffit and the Unarchiver might do the trick. Are there any specific format types? Winrar has a mac version but it's command line only so I'm not sure how user friendly that might be for a Mac user.

Just compress the files and folder with the built-in UI tools? It'll be about as efficient as most other zip tools.

If he needs something more, there's Keka, eZ7z and 7zX, all of which support the 7-Zip format.
