Has just come out with version 1.0

I haven't downloaded yet, but the .95 version was fun and they have improved up that. If you have command and conquer generals: zero hour, it is worth installing and downloading to play.

Cold War Crisis is the most amazing C&C Generals mod I have ever played in my life. I'll check out Shockwave next time I have Generals installed, though.

Shockwave is one of the major inspirations for Paradox. I plan on installing it as soon as I get some time; I'm eager to see what they've done with it.

It's amazing...how the mod's website utterly fails to briefly summarize what the fucking thing is about and what its main features are.

It's a Cold War mod for C&C Generals, USSR vs USA. It quite extensively changes the game, and the units feel great. Small details like being able to switch your tanks from APFSDS to HE (or ATGM if you're using some Russian tanks) depending on what you want them to waste really make the game. Graphically, it's highly impressive for a Generals mod. It even has a pseudo-campaign, although it was fairly primitive and only a couple of missions when I last played the mod (but there have been a few updates since then that I haven't had a chance to check out). I should also give a shout out to the audio too, completely redone, great quality recordings and solid voice-work. I always smile when I hear "
One Apache... eight tanks."
The
Mod DB homepage probably has more useful information.
