Found this: Enjoy.
Battlestar Galactica: Online Trailer @gamestar.de
It actually looks quite nice, the render sequence with Adama and Six wasn't that hot but Bigpoint isn't Blizzard.
And seems they are going to divide the action into Space combat and ground missions like Star Trek: Online.
And planetside action in STO sucks.
Well, at least it's going to be Free2Play as it seems.

Battlestar Galactica: Online - InGame Trailer
"Bring your thousands, I have my axe."
"Bring your cannons, I have my armor."
"Bring your mighty... I am my own champion."
Cue Unit-01 ramming half the Lance of Longinus down Adam's head and a bemused Gendo, "Wrong end, son."

Looks... interesting. Worth a try if its free to play I suppose.
I am hoping for two things however:
a) bigger flyable craft than vipers and raiders
b) That none of the new craft I saw in that video are canon. Because they were ugly and nothing like the other ships :S

You'd think they could manage graphics that were noticeably superior to the BSG mod for Homeworld 2, but it still might be worth a shot.
There are hardly any excesses of the most crazed psychopath that cannot easily be duplicated by a normal kindly family man who just comes in to work every day and has a job to do.

The mechanics look like something out of Battlefront 2.

I foresee this tanking badly.
The big name MMOs have already sucked up a considerable amount of people and the newer ventures are at a severe disadvantage at trying to compete. Especially MMOs that are trying to cash in off brands like Star Trek.
STO was a mess from the beginning and continues to suffer from severe issues because it dosent meet the desires of fans wanting things to be like the actual things they are based off and it dosent meet the desires of actual gamers that want a decent game that matches the times.
I really do not see an MMO based around BSG working for long without it becoming insanely static or venturing off in ways that will completely break the story. There is only so many times you can defend the fleet from basestars or gunning down generic Centurions before it will get repetative.
It's not like you can just randomly spawn aliens to kill and I'm going to be interested if they go with the 'God-did-it' angle the series went with. I certainly will not touch this game if it even remotely tries to spoon feed that shit in dialgoue.
From the video it would appear they intend to have the Pegasus in the mix which ties down at least some of the timeline this is set in.

The shooting bits look halfway interesting, but ugh. The running animation on the character models look like something out of the 90s.
