Anyone else a fellow player and fan of Demon Souls?

Q4 2011, same team that made first game. Basically same gameplay and style but enhanced and refined.

Judging from just the trailer, this looks totally sick.

PS: Demon Souls is a 3rd person action slash/magic rpg with pretty much perfect gameplay mechanics, extremely challenging but rewarding difficulty, and interesting multiplayer.

I'm a Demon's Souls player. Great game. Very intense though, I mostly play through in soul form because I hate getting invaded. Killed ~6 bosses. Got distracted by my new PC but I'll go back to it soonish. At 30 Australian dollars it was a fucking steal.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

I absolutely love Demon's Souls. It was my game of the year and one of the best RPGs I've ever played. Ever since action RPGs have become popular I've waited for one that had depth in both action and role-playing, rather than being a button mashing clusterfuck with leveling mechanics barely above God of War. I expected to enjoy Demon's Souls but I didn't expect it to be my favorite game on the PS3.

Needless to say I had an intense joygasm when Project Dark was announced, and after watching the debut trailer, I haven't been this excited for a game in ages, other than Beyond Good & Evil 2 which feels like it may never come out. Q4 can't come soon enough. :D

Why "spiritual successor"? Did the team that made Demon's Souls get canned and move to a new company after the game came out or something?

There is an interview up with the director but it's in Japanese. Apparently he wanted to make Demon's Souls 2 but various things happened and they were forced to make a new IP.

Amusingly they were going to call it Dark Race, but then they were informed that this was a "racist" title. So they switched to Dark Ring, but then they were informed that this was slang for anus in some places. So they switched to Dark Soul's. :P

You can find the interview semi-translated here.

They should have called it Black Butt.
