Droid OS E-mail Issues

Has anyone come across a problem where your e-mail client gives the following message :"Authentication Error Failure" which has now gone to just plain "Will not send"?
This is happening on Jenn's Motorola Flipside. She has already deleted and reinstalled the Yahoo account. She has the latest OS update.
The email will however send through G-mail, which I know is Android's default and partner, and I have seen people talking about some issues but no answers.
Anyone experience this or know how to solve it?

Not having a Yahoo account(well, I do but it's a "Burner" account) I haven't encountered the problem. However, I have heard through the Interwebs, specifically on the
Maximum PC Podcast, that Yahoo mail doesn't play nice with Android for whatever the reason. Kernel might have to wander in and help out.
I doubt she has the latest update, maybe the latest
carrier update, but a quick glance at Moto's website reveals it's only on 2.1. Your Atrix(and my X) are at 2.2, with 2.3 coming out shortly.

Speaking of 2.3, have you checked out the leaked Gingerbread update for the X? I got it for my D2 and the difference in performance is amazing. I had switched to Liberty because I felt the stock ROM was too sluggish, but GingerBlur makes Liberty look like a goddamn sloth. I like the look of the new Blur, too, and the stock launcher actually lets you customize the dock, as well as organize the app drawer so you can hide the bloatware. I'm still sticking with LauncherPro, though, I've gotten too spoiled by it.

Have her check her Android OS version before I respond to this. Is it 1.6 or 2.1?
The Flipside comes in two hardware models like the Backflip: one is physically incapable of upgrading to 2.1 and is permanently locked on 1.6. It's important to know which hardware spin you have so I can help figure out the issue. Honestly we've had a LOT of problems at work with those two models (Flipside and Backflip) as the Moto firmware on them isn't really that stellar.
Also is she using POP3 or IMAP to do her connection?
