Neat toy, but fuck, I am pissed off that my Motorola Atrix is so big.

I still don't get the point of these things.

Reading books, light web browsing, email and casual games.

Watching porn while taking a dump. No more sticky porno mags.

Plus what Kernel said. My Amazon Apps followed me from my phone, allowing for easy light gaming.

Some additional thoughts now that I'm at work and can't mess around with it:
  • Lots of Internet reviews say the screen seems super fingerprinty. I agree, I'll be getting a screen protector probably sometime this week
  • My Amazon Appstore apps follow me from device to device, much in the manner that my Steam games do. I am glad of this.
  • The keyboard I use(Swiftkey) is really only usable in portrait mode. Thumbkey seems to work better than the default keyboard in landscape mode.
  • Motorola bundled Dungeon Defenders and a couple dozen songs on the Xoom. Most of the songs were at least quasi-big name(Carrie Underwood, Wyclef Jean) but the only one I was interested in was the Oasis song. Since the default Android music player sucks I've been using Amazon's media player since it came out last week.
  • I really like the OS layout. The learning curve is a little steeper than a iOS device, even if you already have a Android Phone, but as I used it more and more this afternoon I grew to enjoy it in ways that are difficult to quantify
  • The Gmail app is absolutely steller

Christ aerius, you still use mags?

I've looked at these though, they are hard on the eyes for actual reading. Jenn's Kindle is great for it though. Does this one fair better?

And what do you mean 'light gaming'?

Dungeon Defenders, Flight Control(the airplane game in the screen shot), Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja.

Kindle is easier on the eyes for protracted reading, but It is useful for couch-surfing.

You should take a look at PowerAMP, Lonestar. It's the best music player for Android, hands-down. It works rather well on the Xoom, even though the UI isn't really designed for tablet use (HUEG album art is HUEG). Also, are you using the standard Swiftkey or the tablet beta, available in the Swiftkey official forums?

I'm using the standard swiftkey. I tell you, I was really pleased that PicSay Pro was the Amazon Free App yesterday. I've been messing with it, and it is really gorgeous on the Xoom.
