Game Trailers has release the first SC2HotS trailer by mistake. It has been taken down, but fortunately someone uploaded it to youtube.

There's not much to go on in this trailer, other than Nova shows herself to be the antagonist.

Good trailer. Especially with Nova and her Ghost sweeper team.

(I hope they do not kill her off in some meaningless way, though.)

I have a feeling Nova is going to stick around for a while. At least till the third game in the series.

Interesting how she doned what looked like Ghost armour.

I'm pumped, although it's probably too hopeful to expect it any time soon.

I'm willing to bet that Nova is just an agent for a larger power (The Dominion) as it is now, so she's probably safe from plot-driven demise.

I wish to see more. Nova becoming a bad guy was kinda sorta unexpected too, since they were gonna sorta didn't make a game with her as the hero. Hope they do well with her character.

My incredibly unjustified guess is that Kerrigan is going to drag Raynor into actions that are increasingly risky and counterproductive to the revolution, for the sake of revenge against the Dominion. Nova will be the antagonist yes, but she'll probably see herself as eliminating an evil zerg infiltrator who's got her talons in Raynor's mind, and is taking over this rebellion. Then we get a mission with Matt Horner siding with Nova and then much MattxNova slash fic will be written.

Honestly, given Blizzards general ability to handle stories and the fact that Starcraft is a huge money maker for them the story will probably be very predictable. Nova and Raynor will be at odds over Kerrigan for some kind of political reason that will eventually be hashed out by the appearance of the "dark Xel'Naga" (thus using the plot and avoiding having to solve problems via character interaction). In order to stop the bad xelnaga they will need the full might of the Protoss, Terran and Zerg so Kerrigan (or perhaps Nova) will have to be infested again (maybe holding onto more humanity, or not...) and thus we will return to the status quo of Raynor flying around being mopey, the Protoss arguing about stuff that we don't care about, and the zerg lead by a hot chick with a nice rack. Fanboys will think something deep has occurred when really everything is just reset for SCIII and will have a babe in a chitinous catsuit to wank over. The End.

Oh, I can't believe I missed this incredibly obvious point. We'll be playing as the Zerg, so the player character will either be Kerrigan or random unnamed and unmentioned Cerebrate. Most likely Kerrigan though. She goes back to Char (apparently) to "save the brood" or something because she's their "mother" and something something alien artifacts something protoss something something. Oh and unite the Zerg to release them from the Dominion's control (since Kerrigan is gone and they can probably use psi-emitters to control them) and then fight the Dominion head-on with the Zerg forces.

Oh, and this game will also feature lots of interaction with the Protoss character who we will be playing in part 3.

Apparently Kerrigan starts off without Raynor. (My guess is that they met up in the middle after she takes back the Swarm, take down Mengsk, and then the whole Dark Voice and Hybrids pops out in third act).

Sounds like it, but we don't really know how the story will unfold. It seems to me that Kerrigan's motivation is partly to gain revenge on Mengsk.

I like it. One of the things that bugged me about WoI's ending is that it seemed picture perfect, now Kerrigan is deinfested etc. HotS seems to be saying 'nah uh' and going that that's the beginning of the story, not the end. In particular I like how the protoss and terrans are still antagonistic towards her and the swarm. Nobody is going to just forget what Kerrigan did as the Queen of Blades.

Doubtful, especially since it has been established before that Kerrigan's persona and the Queen of Blades persona are different. My guess Izsha is the latter.

Why would you control Nova? This is Kerrigan's story.

And WoL was Raynor's story but we controlled the Protoss for a while too. I expect a couple of mission in that style where we play as the Terrans again, and I'm betting on it being Nova's crew.

Zeratul is a friend and ally of Raynor so controlling him in a minicampaign isn't even slightly out of step. Controlling Nova in a story where she is hunting Kerrigan doesn't make sense. But I guess it could happen. I just don't see it.

If there are Terran missions, it will be most likely Raynor's side missions. Why look for Nova when we already got an established crew with Raynor, Horner, Valerian (not a member of the crew, but you know what I mean), Warfield (ditto) etc? Raynor is the best choice.

If they're going to make Nova's role so visible that she's the first character that appears in the teaser, and appears to be set to play the role of the opposition, PLUS the fact that she's a popular character with a lot of fans, is it really hard to see why Blizzard would make her the focus of the secondary mini-campaign?

I imagine that somewhere around the midpoint of the story, Kerrigan is going to get majorly thwarted by Nova, and soon after she'll find a "mission recorder" or something. And that will allow us to play Nova and her team for a few missions, allowing us to play through the actions Nova took to foil Kerrigan's plans.

Regarding Raynor and Co, they'd probably appear in the main campaign as secondary characters, like Matt, Tychus, etc were. Kerrigan needs people to talk to in between missions after all, and she wouldn't be going back to Char alone. Of course there will be new secondary characters too.

I damn well hope so. Zerg were my favourite in SC/BW and they're not the same without the queen bitch of the universe in charge.

The game is supposed to incorporate some "RPG" elements (if you check out the screenshots linked to earlier, you can see level-up/upgrade screens for several zerg units), so that would make sense.

And I'm calling Nova getting infested or something like that.

Yes, especially when the main character from part 1 is already available.
