Anyone have some X-COM UFO Defense save games?

Post by Covenant »

Hey guys, I'm working on a video analysis for my company, and I'm going to be talking about the original X-COM quite a bit. I'd like to use video from the game itself, but there's a variety of specific behaviors I'd like to talk about (base invasions, cryssalid terror missions at night, soldiers enduring mass panic) and even though I can absolutely dominate X-COM myself I was wondering if people had some save games lying around that they could make available.

This would save me quite a bit of time, especially if some of them are examples of those nastier situations like I mentioned, the rough or extreme moments of X-COM. I was hoping to have the video done by Saturday but we'll see.

I apologize if this isn't the best place to post this, but I know a lot of us still play the game and might have some save games lying around. It's not that I'm worried about dying--I've beaten TFTD on Superhuman and I know I can edit my savegames if I was really an incompetent, but I was hoping to just get good snippets of the aliens invading your base and such without having to play hours of X-COM to get it.

Do you want specific savegames near events like terror attacks or end of months or whatever, or just random savegames?

Specific ones would be best, but I'm not too brainless to manage if it's not right before.

It's easy to generate gameplay myself just by playing, but those rarer events require fishing. Horrible things like Snakeman terror missions, base invasions, alien infiltrations or end-of-month events where people withdraw from the organization are best. But a lot of the basic stuff I can get myself just by playing--it's not hard to convince a few nations to withdraw their funding by just sitting and doing nothing, afterall.
