[Tech help] Audio CD, poor quality on last few songs

The past few audio CDs I've burned have allways had a drop in quality on the last few songs, faint sound, skips, crackling, etc. I've tried different programs to burn the CDs, different programs to convert the audio file, different PCs with different CD-R drives, the only constant has been the brand of CDs which I've used before with no problems.

Anyone any ideas what might be causing it? Just a bad batch of blank CDs?

If you've removed all of the variables except the CD's, it is most likely the CD's. I've encountered many times that within the same stack of disks purchased at the same time (from companies I've used successfully) I can encounter bad disks. Sometimes its only one or two, other times there might be a run of 10-20. Best suggestion: try a different brand of disk, or the same brand but a disk from a different box.

One question: Is it the same audio files you are burning to the same location each time, or are they new files or in different orders?
