Demolition Company.

I got this because HOLY SHIT DOES MY SON LOVE DIGGERS and have found it to be quite awesome (and not just for distracting him).

Why?

Because the devs went: "You know what was good about Red Faction: Guerilla? Blowing shit up and smashing it. You know what sucked? The rest of that game."

So they made this game. In which you demolish shit with heavy machinery and explosives. Sure some of the missions call for finesse and skill... But you can always choose not to play them.

My god though, occasionally the game takes a turn for the German when you have missions where you have to demolish something, but then clean up the site afterwards.

And fair warning CRAZY PHYSICS GLITCHES AND CLIPPING TEND TO HAPPEN.

I stumbled across that thing on my search for a new blast-corps-esque game. Saw horrible reviews, saw videos of ridiculous wonky physics, and decided there was no way in hell I was paying 30.00 for it. Are you saying I was incorrect?

Am I reading it right? Is it only available in German?

No, the Steam version is in English. It just has some really really German game design choices at times.

For me, I've gotten value out of it - but some of that is distracting a digger obsessed kid post surgery.

Sure there's some ridiculously wonky physics at times, but they happen maybe one mission in 5 and generally you bring them on yourself by being reckless.

Reviews also say it's short and and the economic model is simplistic, and also that you can't actually chose your demolition method and equipment like the game promises but that it's assigned to you.

So uh...25 bucks? Not really.

Actually you can replay any mission via free play mode with any tools you want and in the campaign once you level up you can also choose any tools you want.

The economic model is simple, but playing on easy = don't have to grind missions to unlock equipment and new missions.

Things really do take a turn for the German, and it's way too damn short - and the modding community seems to have only made like 4 more maps, none of which are any good.
